Turning the blog into the company’s best asset for raising awareness and educating prospective customers

The company

STORED is one of London’s best storage services. It offers personal, commercial, and student storage solutions and has served more than 7,200 customers. The company has an online booking system that visitors can use to book their storage space online in under 5 minutes.

Growth Summary

Within 18 months, we helped STORED (formerly bySTORED)—one of the leading moving and storage companies in London—increase its blog organic traffic by 20x. We achieved this through a combination of content strategy, content creation, and SEO services.

The Challenges

Highlights
  • Lack of strategy and overall direction when it came to content
  • Little-to-no blog visibility in the UK
  • Little-to-no blog traffic coming from the UK
  • Needed high-quality content that integrated the product when and if it made sense
  • Reduce reliance on PPC as the main source of leads/sales in order to reduce the overall CAC

STORED’s main challenge was its lack of organic visibility through the company’s blog.

Even though the company had some editorial content published on various parts of the website, such as the blog, the content wasn’t performing well and, in many cases, was hurting the website’s performance as a whole.

Also, since STORED operates in an extremely competitive industry, there was a need for educational content through which the company could educate its visitors about the service and differentiate itself from competitors.

So, the company was in need of high-quality content that performed well organically and—at the same time—educated its audience and prospective customers.

At the same time, the company wanted to reduce its reliance on PPC for customer acquisition as the CAC through that channel was significantly high compared to the company’s LTV.

Reduce our reliance on PPC as our main source of leads/sales in order to reduce our overall CAC but maintain strong growth.

In a nutshell, the company was in need of strategy and overall direction when it came to content as well as world-class execution that would help the company’s blog traffic pick up with the ultimate goal of turning the blog into a strong customer acquisition and education asset.

They were recommended via our investors as a strong fit for what we need.

Following our qualification process and after agreeing on all levels, we kicked things off on January 1st, 2019.

The Solution

Highlights
  • Define the content strategy and identify all the keywords for which the website had to get visibility
  • Score these keywords based on the Opportunity Score and prioritize them accordingly
  • Create content that ranks really high in Google’s search results in the UK and other English-speaking countries
  • Establish processes and workflows that require minimal effort on our client’s side
  • Provide recommendations regarding SEO and come up with suggestions on new initiatives to further enhance the website’s visibility

Early on, we understood the need of mapping the customer journey to specific keywords and trying to identify opportunities based on the stages someone goes through when searching for a storage company.

This helped us understand that, for example, someone who’s between moves in London may need a temporary storage solution to pick up and deliver their items when they finally find a new house.

So, we started by defining the audience and conducting keyword research.

This allowed us to identify all the keyword opportunities we could go after in the first 6 months of our engagement.

We mapped the keywords we identified to specific lifecycle stages, and after coming up with the Opportunity Score for each keyword, we prioritized them and put them in a content calendar.

From the moment we had a clear view of the stages, we started creating high-quality content consistently, based on a 6-month content calendar.

They are responsible for taking a content brief from our SEO team and our local operations team and creating relevant content to help our customers understand the service and engage with it.

Eventually, we extended our partnership in more areas, such as creating content for the company’s location and service-focused pages, conducting a content audit on the company’s blog, and providing many additional recommendations related to content and SEO.

Results

Highlights
  • More than 20K monthly organic visits, primarily from the UK and other English-speaking countries
  • Visibility for more than 5K organic keywords
  • Turning the blog into the company’s best asset for raising awareness and educating prospective customers

Our effort resulted in more than 20K monthly organic visits, primarily from the UK and other English-speaking countries.

Since working with the Minuttia team, we've seen an extremely large increase in website traffic, as well as a large number of customers being more educated on the service.

The growth in organic traffic was possible due to developing visibility for more than 5K organic keywords, many of which are keywords with high commercial intent.

Above all, we managed to turn the blog into the company’s best asset for raising awareness and educating prospective customers.

They have been great in understanding our needs, but also proactively bringing suggestions for improvements and highlighting potential blind spots.

We don’t limit ourselves to just creating content; we always try to push the envelope of what’s possible for our clients by providing recommendations and developing initiatives that will help our clients accelerate their organic growth.

TThey're proactive, and they want to really help us on our journey to grow and provide a better offering; they go above and beyond every time.
